Crafts and Domestics

I tried felting for the first time. It was a roller coaster of emotions. It basically went like this:

10:15- Put everything in the washing machine.

10:20- Check the washing machine. Realize it’s still filling up with water. Read a different set of felting instructions and read that I was supposed to check it five minutes AFTER it started moving.

10:30- Check again, this time the agitation has started already. “Oh my god!!! Why is it stretching out?!?!! That is the opposite of what it needs to do!!” Frantically read multiple websites with felting directions, assuring me that this is normal.

10:45- Keep running the machine, checking every 5 minutes. The brown and the dark green are starting to felt but the light green isn’t felting at all. Banging my head against a wall for using different brands of yarn.

10:50- Start the machine over again. Starting to lose hope.

10:55- Check again. OH MY GOD IT’S PERFECT!!!!

It came out perfectly. I just got to sew everything together now!
